"Smart" move at the Royal Albert Hall Exodus Controls, the latest member of the Fitzgerald Lighting Group has recently provided the Smartswitch system to the Royal Albert Hall, and received the approval of Tom Scullane, Building Services Manager. Previously the lighting in each tier of seating could only be controlled manually, involving a lengthy trek, switching the illumination of each level, on or off by hand. With the installation of an Exodus system, the lit environment can be operated from a hand held controller from anywhere in the auditorium. It is a proven system consisting of wire free switches transmitting FM radio signals to receivers, which are wired to the luminaire. At heritage sites such as this, the Exodus system is invaluable, as its wireless operation negates the need for surface wiring, chasing in, and unsightly trunking systems. A versatile, labour saving lighting solution, Exodus really deserve a round of applause. |
