ORION LIGHTING COLUMNS

A range of quality tubular steel lighting columns designed to BS5649.

Finish: hot dip galvanised treatment to BS729 complete with externally bitumen coated root.

Floodlight and Post top bracket attachments are available in various sizes and styles. Brackets can be manufactured from double arm to 4 way formats. Galvanised to BS 729.

A standard Range 4, 5 & 6m columns with 76mm spigot top, 76mm to 60mm reducer available for post top lanterns.

All columns have lockable access door.

Various finishes are available: galvanised and painted with primer base coat in aircraft grey and black. Other colour finishes or special treatments available on request.

Variations to the standard range include flange mounted columns and "raise and lower" construction, available to order.

Bespoke column specifications available to order.

This product range is supplied under the manufacturer's quality assurance scheme.

Windage

The wind pressure on a column is dependant upon its height, location/area and the extent of exposure, i.e. what wind barriers are around it.

For other column dimensions and configurations, please seek advice from out Technical Support Office. * These figures are based on wind speeds adjusted for typical altitudes in UK administrative territories. These provide a wind pressure for each area from which a maximum wind speed is derived. According to EN40, there are 4 Terrain Categories. The above examples use Category 2. CAT 1 - Rough open sea. Lakeshore with at least 5km fetch upwind. Smooth flat country without obstacles. CAT 2 - Farmland with boundary hedges, occasional small farm structures, houses or trees. CAT 3 - Suburban or industrial areas and permanent forests. CAT 4 - Urban areas in which at least 15% of the surface is covered with buildings and their average height exceeds 15m. N.B. The information shown in these tables is for guidance only. We recommend, prior to specification, all column and luminaire combinations are verified with our Technical Support Office.
