The choice of Central Battery Emergency Lighting Systems.

The Martell range of central battery emergency lighting systems offer a number of advantages not only for use in medium to large installations that have the requirement for emergency lighting and signage but also where one or more of the following requirements exist:

 

Installations with a high luminaire mounting height, i.e. greater than 4 metres

Installations that require higher levels of illumination than just the legal minimum.

Installations that require central control for testing, monitoring or operation of the maintained lighting.

Installations requiring longer periods of emergency back-up than 3 hours.

Installations where it is desirable to utilise the normal mains luminaires under emergency or mains failure conditions.

System Sizing.
AC systems

The system size is determined by a combination of the size of the load (W) and the duration required under mains fail conditions, e.g. a maintained AC/DC system required to run the following luminaires for 3 hours would be sized thus:

1. 20 x 20W tungsten lamps

2. 40 x 18 W T8 lamps

3. 10 x 8 W Exit box luminaires.

Charger

Capable of charging the battery to be able to provide at least 80% of rated duration, with the rated load applied, within 12 hours. 100% of capacity available within 24 hours. Automatic temperature compensation of battery charge voltage.

Enclosures

Fully welded construction with lockable, hinged front door(s).

Top cable entry facilitated through un-drilled gland plate.

Constructed of 1.5mm steel sheet cladding, 2mm sheet steel door with tubular stiffening rails and a base mounting plate with folded edges constructed from 2.5mm zintec.

Standard IP rating; IP21

Standard colour finish RAL7032 textured.

of Emergency Lighting Static Inverters

The Martell inverter is specifically designed for emergency lighting. It is controlled by a micro processor and is very reliable, quiet and efficient in operation.

Incorporating MustStart™ technology Martell inverters are guaranteed to start any lighting load within its rating from "cold". The addition of PowerFlow™ circuitry allows normal operation to resume even after the clearance of a complete short circuit on the inverter output.

These technologies are incorporated to ensure the availability of emergency power under the most demanding circumstances and to give users complete piece of mind.
