Cost-effective lighting control for commercial and light industrial applications, giving speed of installation, compliance with regulations and energy saving. The diagram above shows a typical installation of Exodus products in commercial or industrial premises. The products being used are low-cost and easily installed. In this example the offices are equipped with non-dimmable lighting and ceiling mounted PIR presence detectors, all connected using simple marshalling boxes. The toilets do not use marshalling boxes, but simple mains PIR occupancy detectors are employed. The lighting in the warehouse is controlled with a micro-wave occupancy sensor at the end of each aisle. The floodlights over the lorry park and loading area are controlled by a long-range micro-wave presence sensor in a rugged, IP66 rated, enclosure. |

Applications |
OPEN PLAN OFFICES Marshalling boxes are ideal in open plan offices. The first fix/second fix design of all Exodus marshalling boxes means that the need for skilled labour is reduced to a minimum, and final connections can be completed in minutes. For speed of installation, reliability and flexibility we recommend the use of modular wiring. See page 0.7 for details of how to order. Where the simplest layout is required the E016603 marshalling box will suffice. It will support 2 separate lighting groups, and up to a total of 16A load. Where cost is to be minimised and non-dimmable lighting is used the sensors can be low-cost too. The E016467 connects directly to the marshalling box. When it detects movement the appropriate relay in the marshalling box will close to switch on a group of luminaires. EMERGENCY LIGHTING All Exodus marshalling boxes include provision for a maintained live supply and key-switch connection. TOILETS AND STAIR-WELLS Marshalling boxes would rarely be used here, so mains powered sensors are required in these areas. Dimming is rarely used too, and there is no requirement either for a manual over-ride, so the simplest sensor will generally suffice. The Exodus E016476 is a good choice. WAREHOUSE AISLES A conventional passive infra-red sensor is not appropriate here due to the distance over which detection is required. For simple on/off control here we recommend the E016495 which uses micro-wave technology and has a detection range of up to 30m. FACTORIES AND SPORTS HALLS These require both wide-area detection and a rugged, weatherproof construction. The E016497 meets these requirements, and is supplied in one piece, complete with an adjustable stainless steel mounting bracket. |
