Wire-free lighting controls for domestic, heritage and outdoor projects providing flexibility, ease of installation and control.

transmitter and receiver pic

Exodus wire-free lighting controls can provide a control solution for almost any situation. From simple lighting in a bathroom, through scene-setting in a reception room to complete control of lights, garage doors and gates, Exodus wire-free controls are one of the most versatile solutions available today.

Consisting of transmitters and receivers, the transmitters (which may be hand-held or wall mounted) send digital, FM radio (Rf) signals to the receivers, which are wired into the lighting circuits. There are different types of receivers for different applications. For indoor projects, receivers are typically installed in ceiling voids, lofts and service cupboards. For outdoor applications such as garden lights, garage doors, gates and water features, they are typically mounted in weatherproof enclosures.

Below are some examples of where Exodus wire-free controls could be used, with suggestions of the part numbers that would be appropriate.
Refer to the
diagram above.

CONSERVATORIES & EXTENSIONS

Wire-free controls mean that the lights in a newly installed conservatory or extension can be controlled from the neighbouring room without damaging existing decoration.

SCENE SETTING

With the press of a single button, multiple lighting circuits can be switched to a specific pre-set scene or mood.

GARDEN LIGHTING

Power for garden lighting is usually available from a garage or outbuilding, but control is usually required from the house. Rather than dig trenches for switch-wires, use Exodus wire-free controls and adjust the outdoor lighting from the patio, the sitting room, the bedroom, or a remote-control in your pocket.

GATES AND GARAGE DOORS

Exodus wire-free controls can operate not just lighting, but gates, garage doors, swimming pool covers and pumps too, all from one transmitter or remote control.

BATHROOMS & KITCHENS

Exodus wire-free controls can be safely installed in bathrooms, kitchens and anywhere close to water where mains switching would be unsafe.

SWITCHES (TRANSMITTERS)

We offer two styles of wire-free switches suitable for wall mounting; rocker style switches and push-button style switches.

Full details are on page 0.9.

Rocker style wire-free switches

Rocker style wire-free switches.

For use with Exodus receivers and Exodus digital marshalling boxes. These units provide on/off and (with a suitable receiver) dimming control. They will not recall scenes. All available in 1, 2 & 3 gang versions and in a full range of plastic or metal covers, including brass, chrome, bronze etc.

Push-button style wire-free switches

Push-button style wire-free switches.

For use with Exodus receivers and Exodus digital marshalling boxes. These units provide on/off and (with a suitable receiver) dimming control. They will not recall scenes. Available in 1, 3 and 5 gang versions.

Wire-free scene recaller

Wire-free scene recaller.

For use with Exodus receivers and Exodus digital marshalling boxes. This unit will recall up-to 5 scenes and also has buttons for brighter and dimmer/off.

REMOTE CONTROLS

Remote controls are available in 5-channel and 15-channel versions. For use with Exodus receivers and Exodus digital marshalling boxes. These units provide on/off and (with a suitable receiver) dimming control. They will not recall scenes.

Remote control

E016405.

Remote control 5 channel, hand-held Rf

An Rf transmitter, for use with Exodus receivers R025010 - R025040 and with the digital marshalling boxes, E016600 and E016620. This unit provides on/off and dimming control of up to 5 receivers, 5 groups of receivers or 5 combinations of lighting groups.

E016415.

Remote control 15 channel, hand-held Rf

An Rf transmitter, for use with Exodus receivers R025010 - R025040 and with the digital marshalling boxes, E016600 and E016620. This unit provides on/off and dimming control of up to 15 receivers, 15 groups of receivers or 15 combinations of lighting groups.

RECEIVERS

There are 5 different Exodus receivers to suit different applications. All Exodus receivers can memorise any number of the buttons or rockers on up to 12 separate Rf devices. All receivers have a 5 scene memory. Scenes can only be recalled from a scene-recaller, but simple switching and dimming can be from any Rf device, or via a range of wired input options.

All receivers can be configured for their wired inputs to be retractive, timed, latching or toggle. Where a receiver has two wired inputs (one per channel), each wired input can be configured independently of the other. Dimensions in mm: L 275 (without antenna), 405 (with antenna), W 58, H 33. Fixing centres 264.

Receiver

R025010.

Receiver, on/off 1 x 6AX change over contacts

Single circuit relay switching up to 6A resistive or inductive load. Metal halide and SON lamps should be switched using a contactor. Relay contacts are volt-free, normally open and normally closed. Control can be wired and/or Rf control.

The relay outputs can be configured to operate in 3 ways; latching on/off, on only while receiving an input and timed (5 minutes or 10 minutes). Apart from lighting, this unit could be used to open and close garage doors or gates. Used in this way some gates could be opened via a command from a hand-held remote controller, and they could close automatically after 5 or 10 minutes.

R025020.

Receiver, on/off 2 x 6AX

Relay switching of two independent circuits, each rated up to 6A resistive or inductive load. Metal halide and SON lamps should be switched using a contactor. Relay contacts are volt-free. Control can be wired and/or via Rf control. The relay outputs can be configured to operate in 3 ways; latching on/off, on only while receiving an input and timed (5 minutes or 10 minutes).

R025030.

Receiver, dimming 1 x 600W

This unit is for leading-edge (triac) dimming of mains tungsten and LV tungsten (with electronic transformers) loads up to 600W. Two stage thermal overload protection, with soft-start and last-light-level memory.

R025035.

Receiver, dimming 2 x 250W

This unit is for leading-edge (triac) dimming of mains tungsten and LV tungsten (with electronic transformers) loads up to 250W per circuit. Two stage thermal overload protection, with soft-start and last-light-level memory.

R025040.

Receiver, dimming 2 x DSI

This unit delivers two independent DSI outputs. DSI is a 12v control signal widely used in lighting, especially for the control of fluorescent lighting fitted with appropriate control gear. DSI actuated control gear/dimmers is also available for LEDs, mains tungsten (up to 5000W) and LV tungsten. Because it only generates a control signal and does not control a load directly this unit has no rated load.
